The Art Department strives to look for new ways of developing past success and existing good practice.

Regular exposure to artists, galleries and other art forms, places all 
of the work in context and provides the excitement and inspiration for individual progress in Art and Design

¨ Weekly Extension-classes in oil painting and other specialist skills for year 10/11/12/13 (3.30-5.00 p.m. Wednesdays)
¨ Local galleries visited annually
¨ Opportunities to go to London and Paris
¨ Life drawing classes attended annually
¨ There is an annual KS 2/3 Exhibition Celebration Evening -involving local primary schools
¨ There are annual GCSE/A2/AS Exhibition Celebration Evenings
¨ Visiting artists employed annually to enhance the curriculum
¨ Chester College and J. M. U. associate teachers in the department annually
¨ Annual visits to Wirral Metropolitan College for Further Education information
¨ Developing I.C.T. programs using digital camera and Powerpoint, leading to a Digital Photography GCSE course and ASDAN extension .lessons
¨ Annual LEA visit to major artistic cities for Years 12/13 as part of the Gifted and Talented schemes
